Mark Litwiler
Mark started the Aquarium program during the summer before his freshman year. He immediately stepped up to the plate and began donating his time feeding and taking care of the facility when school was not in session. Mark's love of the ocean and dedication to the Aquarium program resulted in him being selected as a member of the Marine Technology Institute during his sophomore year. He has proven to be a valuable asset to the Aquarium in many different ways.
Mark quickly demonstrated skills as a habitat maintenance specialist. During his sophomore year he also began to delve into the realm of water quality management. At the culmination of this past year, Mark was appointed Head Curator of Habitat and System Operations for the Aquarium program. In this capacity, Mark ensures that the habitats within the facility are kept as close to a stable ecological equilibrium as possible. With over 2 thousand gallons of water to monitor, test, and distribute, he’s certainly got his hands full. Each day, we rely on his knowledge and diligence to ensure a safe environment for each of the organisms under our care.
With the title of Head Curator has come the responsibility to help manage all aspects of our cross-curricular program. Mark has proven to be talented and capable in all of the myriad tasks we throw his way.
