Great White Shark

Torch Operating Company gave $5,000 towards the building of a scale model of a Great White Shark to hang from the ceiling of the new Aquarium. Alisa Natal, a former Cabrillo High School student, used the money and the technique patented by her grandfather to design and sculpt the six foot model out of a unique type of lightweight foam. Hot Wire Foam Factory of Lompoc, a business owned by her father, David Natal, also contributed its expertise and equipment to the project.

The Great White was chosen to represent the misunderstood, over hunted and demonized shark community. This project is a partnership between a national energy corporation, a local business, and the Cabrillo High School Aquarium.
