Intertidal Habitat

This unique aquarium holds 130 gallons of water and supports a variety of life native to the Central Coast. Its unique design simulates the surge of waves cruising through the intertidal zones along the coastline.

The species of marine animal visitors you can find in this display includes: Horn Sharks,a Garabaldi and an Opaleye.. We currently have two of the bottom dwelling Horn Sharks that coast gracefully through the gentle currents. Both were hatched within our facility. They have a tendency to swim around the perimeter of the tank, and are nourished on a diet of anchovies, squid, and shellfish.

The tank is also home to a large California Spiny Lobster, a juvenile Garibaldi, and several mollusks and echinoderms.
