This display is a newer addition to the main floor display collection. This unique display currently features multiple Moon Jellies acquired from the Cabrillo Aquarium. These beautiful creatures glide peacefully along with the currents. These particular animals exist on a diet ofNaupli (Brine Shrimp).
Jellies utilize powerful stinging cells, or cnidoblasts, to paralyze their prey. After the prey is rendered immobile, it is transported to the mouth (below the bell from which the tentacles extend).
